The Hives: Lex Hives

Outfit:
Mesh Pointelle Top: Missbehaver
Bralet: Topshop
Disco Pants: American Apparel
Suede Wedges: Office
Necklace: Missbehaver

Ignore the slightly awkward pose. This outfit was before I saw The Hives at Manchester Academy, last night. I wore a leather jacket (from ASOS) over the top when I was outside, making me slightly more warm outside in the cold December air.
The night was great, The Hives performed even better than my already high expectations - I saw them at Leeds Festival in the summer and they pretty much made my whole weekend!
The band looked great in their usual ensemble of top hats and tuxedos, Pelle, in particularly, looked hot and engaged in his usual banter with the crowd (I have a bit of a huge crush on him).
The atmosphere was also amazing and friendly; the crowd was a mixture of older generations and younger generations, I think I fit somewhere in between.
The Hives played an excellent set, playing some songs from Veni Vidi Vicious which brought me back to my childhood and finishing on the legendary Tick Tick Boom, where Pelle made the whole of the crowd all sit on the floor for a short while before the music kicked in big time.
This was the first gig I'd been to since Leeds Festival and I'm hoping I don't have to wait as long again to watch another band.
I haven't really written any music reviews before so please excuse any poor choice of words/grammar here, I'm hoping to start going to more gigs though next year so my writing WILL improve, watch this space!

Millwood Studios

Here is some of the professional photography from the styling shoot I did at Millwood Studios in Stalybridge in September. I love how they’ve turned out and really hope that they reflect my personality.

This first outfit focuses on a key trend this season, layering. The pink/peachy blazer and frilly socks also give it a girly look. A very fun ensemble to put together!

This second look was based on an article I read on Vogue.com about “Countryside Alliance”, although you can probably see a few other styles in here too (masculine, Victoriana etc). The backdrop brings the photograph to life giving it a really natural feel. The blazer is actually one of my favourite buys from a charity shop and has proved to be a very useful and the brooch adds a little vintage quirk to the outfit - it was my late Grandma’s…

This was a spontaneous outfit I put together - I think it has a boyish twist to it though, the predominant theme throughout the day it seems. My favourite segments of this outfit are the hat, the ribbon tied into a bow and my beloved suedette shirt.

Leaving the best till last, of course. This is based on a picture Joanna and I had seen in a magazine and wanted to recreate in our own unique way. Again you can see the masculine theme, a big A/W trend, but the heels and clutch bag also bring a girly side to the look. The photography is amazing and really brings out the attitude here.

Missbehaver Photo Shoot

It's my favourite time of the week again - photo shoot time! I normally take a little book with me prior to the shoot and go over outfits I have planned. Whilst I definitely think that planning plays a huge factor in photo shoots, so does spontaneity. I always plan what I'm going to wear, not just because it's convenient but also because it's fun. For me I think spontaneity is good in small doses, and in the case of this shoot it worked very well for several of the outfits. Here are the new in products for Missbehaver.com

Your Disco Needs You

It's freezing outside, you've got a night out planned but there is no way you are going out in that dress with your legs all bare. This is where the Disco Pants step in to rescue you. These versatile trousers, can be worn dressed up or down. The best thing about them is that they keep your legs warm on those cold, winter nights. Wear in the daytime with a slouchy jumper and some ankle boots and in the evening style with some heels and a dressy top. Here are several ways you can wear yours.

Out of this Universe

The Galaxy Print has been a well-known, and quite unique trend this year. I, for one, have found it an interesting and bold piece to add to an outfit. Here are some different looks I've put together for Missbehaver using this popular print.

Missbehaver Photo Shoot

So the Winter's most definitely arrived at our doorsteps, bringing with it the need for a nice warm coat and the excitement of upcoming Christmas parties. Here is the latest photo shoot for Missbehaver.co
I'm particularly loving the army-style coat with faux leather sleeves and all things sequin.

Clowes Park, Prestwich

What a beautiful Autumn day for an Autumn themed photo shoot. The first outfit I put Joanna in was built up of a range of different styles such as Edwardian, Masculine, Countryside Alliance etc. I felt like this mix of trends created a distinctive and stylish outcome. I opted for neutral colours such as browns, greens and creams in order for it to match the surroundings nicely. This first photo, as you can tell, is the professional photograph.

Outfit: Blazer - Charity Shop, Lace Top - Matalan, Pleated Skirt - Pop Boutique, Ankle Boots - Topshop, Faux Fur Scarf (off a cardigan) - H&M, Ribbon - Market

The second outfit was more of a contrast between a warm colour, oxblood, and a cooler colour, white. Again, with this look I wanted to bring out that Autumn theme to match the surroundings. I feel like the duffle coat did this nicely and as a result complimented the unique crochet top dress that I styled along with it.

Annnddddd a little extra for my benefit...

Here is my outfit I wore that day. I love jumpers over dresses, whether it's boiling, hot Summer's day or a snowstorm of a day in the Winter I always find it an easy yet stylish ensemble (that could be down to the fact that I have a little obsession for knitwear in general). The dress I have on (worn as a skirt), is one that my Mum and I both customised together. My mum is an expert on the sewing machine and so helped me create, what was to begin with, an oversized awful dress into a cute, fitted floral number that you could dress up or down. Dark florals are a big trend this AW hence why I chose to wear it that day. I jumped on the stud bandwagon for the day and wore this black studded jumper over the dress along with my leather jacket and little lace up boots.
